Safeguarding and Child Protection

The safety and well being of all children is paramount at Moorgate Nursery School and Children’s Centre. All staff, volunteers and students are Criminal Record Bureau checked and they have regular training on safeguarding. We work to Child Protection Policy and Procedures, drawing on national and Lancashire guidelines. Because of the day to day contact with children, early years settings are particularly well placed to observe outward signs of abuse, changes in behaviour or failure to develop. Parents should be aware therefore that, where it appears to a member of staff that a child may have been abused, Moorgate is required, as part of the local Child Protection Procedures, to report their concern to Children’s Social Care.
